Inside The Circle: crews, signals and training with people who show up

Fitness social feeds usually optimise for the wrong thing. They reward the best-looking day of your month and quietly make everyone else feel behind.

The Circle, available to Pro members, is built around a different question: who noticed whether you trained this week?

Signals, not posts

A signal is a short update tied to something you actually did — a session, a streak, a restore block, a PR. You can add a line of context or a photo, but the anchor is the action, not the caption.

You can't post a signal for a workout you didn't log. That one rule removes most of the performance.

Crews

A crew is a small group, capped deliberately low, with a shared wall and chat. Crews work best when they're built around something specific:

  • Same program, same block
  • Same city, weekend sessions
  • Same schedule — the 5 a.m. crowd
  • Same comeback — new parents, post-injury, returning after years off

Roles are simple: owner, moderator, member. Owners and moderators handle invites, pin posts and remove content.

Connections and chat

You can send a connection request to another Pro member, and message people you're connected with. Realtime chat, read state, and per-conversation mute. No cold DMs from strangers.

The rules

Every crew inherits the same baseline: no unsolicited coaching, no selling, no body-shaming, no medical advice. Reporting is one tap, moderation decisions are logged, and appeals go to a real review queue.

A good training group is boring in the best way. People show up, say what they did, and ask each other how the knee is doing.

Privacy is opt-in per surface

Your profile can be public, connections-only, or private. Training stats, streaks and mood posts each have their own visibility. Nothing from The Circle is indexed publicly.

Getting value in the first week

  1. 1Join or start one crew — not five.
  2. 2Post one signal after your first session. It feels awkward once.
  3. 3Reply to two other people. That's the whole mechanism.
